The University of Ghana wishes to inform the public, prospective applicants, as well as parents and guardians, that applications are now being accepted for admission into various undergraduate programs for the academic year 2024/2025. Here are some important points to note:
Undergraduate - Apply Now | UNIVERSITY OF GHANA
1. All prospective applicants are urged to visit the University's website, www.ug.edu.gh, and thoroughly review all relevant information and guidelines before applying.
2. Applicants sitting for the WASSCE in 2024 are eligible to apply.
3. Programs within the College of Health Sciences, excluding those offered at the School of Allied Health Sciences, are available as FIRST CHOICE options only. For second and third choices, applicants should select courses from the Sciences.
4. The following programs offered at the College of Basic and Applied Sciences are designated as FIRST CHOICE: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering.
5. Applicants considering B.Sc. Administration or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) as their first choice are strongly advised to select additional courses from the Bachelor of Arts program as their second choice to improve their chances of admission.
6. For the Bachelor of Arts (BA) program, applicants must select subjects from the provided list of bouquets. Up to four subject bouquets must be selected in order of preference.
7. BA program entrants are required to offer three subjects at Level 100, two subjects at Level 200 and Level 300, and either two subjects or one subject at Level 400.
8. Prospective students for the Legon Campus Bachelor's degree who may not meet the competitive cut-off points determined by the Admissions Board for their preferred programs may consider the Fee-paying Scheme. Those interested should indicate this option on their application forms.
9. Mature Students Admission has been reintroduced into the Bachelor of Arts Distance Education (DE) Program since the 2017/2018 academic year.

All applicants will be considered on the basis of result equivalents as provided by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission(GTEC), as per schedule below:

Acceptable qualifications for admissions include:
- Senior Secondary School Certificates (SSSCE/WASSSCE)
- Baccalaureate (French)
- International Baccalaureate (IB)
- GCE (Cambridge) - 'A' and 'O' Levels
- GCSE & 'A' Levels
- American High School - Grade 12 examinations
- Other external qualifications equivalent to WASSSCE/SSSCE and GCE (A Levels). All admissions will be to Level 100.
Additionally, applicants who have attended or graduated with Certificate/Diploma from the University of Ghana since 1996 should provide their STUDENT IDENTITY NUMBERS on their application forms, which will be used in their intended program of study if admitted.
Since the 2007/2008 academic year, the University of Ghana no longer admits applicants with West African Examination Council’s Ordinary and Advanced Level Certificates.
It's crucial for all applicants to understand that the admission process at the University of Ghana is transparent. They should be cautious of individuals claiming to assist with admission in exchange for a fee.
